Why do we use machines, when 99% of all election problems are related to their use? It can't be because they're getting to the end result faster, because they are not. They are actually producing delays. And they certainly are not cheaper, since thousands have volunteered to work for free counting ballots. These error-prone machines cost hundreds of millions to taxpayers who are less than confident of their accuracy, efficiency, or proficiency.
